The Upper Usk Valley is part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area comprises of the villages of Crai, Heol Senni, Defynnog, Pentrebach, Pentrefelin, Sennybridge & Trecastle stretching up to The Usk Reservoir. The Rural Alliances project has facilitated a group to come together to find ways to promote the enjoyment of this lovely part of Wales for the people who live here and for those that visit.
The areas is steeped in history and community spirit, welcoming all to explore and enjoy it’s natural surroundings and peaceful habitats. The area includes stunning walking routes, fishing in the Usk Reservoir and a range of accommodation to suit all.
The Upper Usk Rural Alliance have developed an action plan for the area with the help of funding from the Rural Alliances project in the Brecon Beacons which was 50% funded by the ERDF Interreg IVB North West Europe Programme and the Welsh Government’s Targeted Match Fund. Many members of the community came together to help develop this action plan in 2013 – the plan can be seen via this link: Sennybridge, Crai, Trecastle STS & Action Plan
